Next month’s Geneva Motor Show is just around the corner. Ferrari has announced that a new version of the Ferrari California will debut at the show.

The new Ferrari California is getting a mid-cycle refresh that sees the addition of more power under the hood and a weight reduction of 66 pounds. The V8 now packs 490 horsepower and 372 lb-ft. of torque. The V8 puts out an additional 30 horsepower thanks to new exhaust manifolds and engine mapping. The torque curve has also been modified and is higher across the engine’s generous rev range. The Ferrari California will now reach 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Ferrari was also able to cut 66 pounds from the California with new aluminium fabrication techniques and construction technologies. Ferrari is quick to point out that the weight reduction will not have any negative effects on the California’s structural rigidity and performance.

A new Handling Speciale package includes magnetorheological dampers, stiffer springs and a new steering box with a 10 percent quicker steering ratio.

The new Ferrari California will also get more color options, including two-tone finishes, three-layer paint technology and modern re-interpretations of classic color schemes.
