Celeste is a respiratory therapist, and 22-year veteran at Charity Hospital. Tending to critical patient Hunter Reeves, she is one of the reasons that he survives. After the hurricane hits, the situation at Charity Hospital deteriorates quickly. Celeste had previously suffered the loss of her own son, who would have been about Hunter's age. A bond is forged between caregiver and patient. Celeste spends hours at his bedside manually ventilating him. She is sure he will die and comforts him, saying if he senses death approaching to go peacefully. This is something she would have liked to have had a chance to do with her own son.

Since the Hurricane: Celeste is now living in Mesquite, Texas, and works at Baylor Specialty Hospital. Celeste's mother and two brothers, Jerome and Paul, have already moved back to New Orleans with their families. Celeste returned to New Orleans for a visit in May but has no immediate plans to move back permanently.
