Perfect Predators
During more than 400 million years of evolution, over 400 species of shark have developed highly refined instincts and abilities to keep them the ocean's top predator. Witness sharks as they live in oceans around the globe, from the migration of a baby shark in Bimini, to the relationships of social lemon sharks and a newly discovered great white behavior. Also investigated are new scientific applications and technologies being developed using the unique qualities of sharkskin, including the testing of its barnacle-shedding properties on ships and its bacteria-resistant properties to coat operating tables and catheter tubes.
