Here's me out covering prairie fires in Arkansas, where "danger" is my middle name.

"So I was working on a story -"

Is pretty much how I start most of my anecdotes. And that's because I get to spend my time dodging prairie fires in Arkansas, sweating in deserts in Arizona, or snowshoeing mountain trails in Alaska.

As a video producer and reporter with Discovery News, my job gives me the chance to visit different corners of our country and meet interesting folks with cool jobs of their own, whether it's prospecting for gold or designing the newest space telescope.

I'm a graduate of Boston College and Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Long before covering science for Discovery, I reported on everything from music and movies (fun!) to federal budget appropriations (yawn) to Chicago city hall (exciting!)

From Maryland originally, but I've managed to live in almost every part of the country. And while I've made four separate cross-country trips, I still think there's a lot more to see.
