DeAnne Musolf Crouch is a writer and editor who specializes in outdoor activities. The former editor in chief of Rock & Ice magazine, she now lives in Santa Barbara, Calif., with her husband, writer and climber Greg Crouch.

Chris McKenna is a freelance writer based in New York who last worked for Discovery Channel Online while covering a five-week classic car road rally from Beijing to Paris.

Photographer David Sanders was the 1997 Arizona Press Photographer of the Year and is a staff photographer with the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson. He photographed last year's Eco-Challenge for us from Morocco. David's previous work for Discovery Channel Online includes a trip to Mongolia, Dinosaurs in the Dunes.
