The Dilemma: Would you leave a crew member to die to save yourself?

A hastily assembled crew sets sail from Maine in a luxury yacht, which they are delivering to its new owner in Florida. There is immediately conflict and tension amongst the strangers. Then, a storm engulfs them, and rips the boat apart. The life raft blows away, and the five crew members are forced to take refuge in a 12-foot inflatable dinghy. With no food and no water they soon deteriorate. Can they keep the tiny boat afloat as sharks try to flip them into the sea? Can they resist the all-consuming urge to drink seawater?

LOST IN THE SNOW

The Dilemma: Could you abandon your wife and baby in a snowstorm?

A U.S. Army private is driving to a family funeral with his wife and 4-month-old son. They get caught in a blizzard, and a simple wrong turn leads them deep into a frozen wilderness where their car gets stuck in a snowdrift.  After surviving for days with no provisions they realize that there is little hope of rescue. They decide to abandon their vehicle and walk to find help.  But in this unforgiving environment they are soon overcome by exhaustion and frostbite. The young family has to confront the real possibility that they are not going to survive.  Should the father say goodbye to his wife and baby and try to make it out alone? Or should they stay together as a family – whatever the cost?

As night approaches, they fall victim to stormy conditions and surging currents. The novice is making no headway at all, and will soon be sucked out into the Pacific. The more experienced kayaker decides to leave his struggling friend and paddle on alone. Has he gone to get help ... or is he saving his own skin?

Land-mine clearance specialist Chris Moon and two of his colleagues are ambushed as they work to rid the Cambodian countryside of the deadly remnants of civil war. They are kidnapped by Khmer Rouge guerrillas. Chris plays a risky psychological game with his captors, and manages to avoid instant execution. Then he sees an opportunity to escape, but knows that if he runs for it his friends will certainly be killed by the vengeful Khmer Rouge. If he stays, he faces an almost impossible battle of wits with these notoriously ruthless fighters. Even if he manages to negotiate release, will they make it out of the harsh Cambodian jungle?

The Dilemma: Crippled and stranded, do you risk seeking shelter in a place that may explode?

An animal conservationist is chasing poachers in his light aircraft above an African game reserve. He flies lower and lower, trying to lock his tracking device onto a tagged rhino. Suddenly, he hits wind sheer and nose-dives straight into the harsh and deserted plain. With smashed legs he must survive the blistering heat and the terror of the night as hungry predators circle him. He's become their prey. He can't run and the only place to hide is the fuel-soaked wreckage, which could ignite at any moment. It would be so easy to let death win. Staying alive will need not only a supreme act of will, but also the knowledge gained through years of dealing with wild animals.
