Finding: PLAUSIBLE Explanation: In the Green Hornet special with Seth Rogen, the MythBusters team tried to split the superhero's sedan, Black Beauty, and drive the front half afterward. Specifically, MythBusters Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara had to slice the car down the middle using an elevator as the knife, per the Green Hornet plot. In the movie, Black Beauty rolls halfway into an elevator car, and when the lift goes up, the car's back end is chopped off when it collides with the ceiling. Using a forklift as a powerful elevator pulley stand-in, the MythBusters attempted to karate chop a Black Beauty-esque car but only ended up crushing it like a tin can. As Grant explained, the busted myth would work only if the elevator raised the car against a cutting force, not the smashing force of the flat ceiling. With half the myth busted, could the MythBusters save the other half and drive a bifurcated Black Beauty? After the stunt car was re-engineered to be forward-drive instead of rear-drive, it only motored a few feet since it lacked a rear fuel tank, which would've been chopped off in the elevator ride. But the myth escaped as a plausible because Seth Rogen reminded the MythBusters that the Green Hornet's sidekick, Kato, installed a front fuel tank in Black Beauty just in case. When the team took that cue from Kato, the half-car drove 20 impressive laps at 40 miles (64 kilometers) per hour.
