Episode 77: Birds in a Truck
In "Birds in a Truck," Adam and Jamie tackle Sir Isaac Newton's founding principle of thermodynamics and the law of conservation of momentum. They're looking into a physics' classroom urban myth. If birds in a truck take flight do they lighten the load? Watch to see if the 'Busters will be outsmarted by a flock of pigeons ... Meanwhile, Grant, Tory and Kari become crime scene investigators. A photo found on the Net shows a speedboat impaled on a channel marker, almost neatly split in half. In an effort to get to the bottom of this watery fender bender, our intrepid CSI team goes on a high-speed joyride.
Premiere: April 18, 2007

Episode 78: Walking on Water
It's "East Meets West" in this episode of MythBusters. Shrouded in secrecy and mythology, not to mention cult popularity, ninjas are perfect fodder for the MythBusters. The whole team joins forces to pit science against martial arts mystique. Can ninjas run on water as movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon would have us believe? In "Walking on Water," Adam, Jamie and a ninjitsu master try their luck at aquatic agility. And if that doesn't work, the boys get confrontational as they compete to see how ninjas — masters of illusion — could create the impression of water running. In "Samurai Swing," Kari, Tory and Grant find out if a ninja could stop a samurai sword with his bare hands. To avoid the sharp sting of steel the team devises a ninja rig to clap onto the sword, and it seems like this myth is all in the timing.
Premiere: April 25, 2007

Episode 72: Underwater Car
If you're unfortunate enough to drive your vehicle into the drink, is it possible to escape or will a watery grave be your fate? Heading poolside, the guys get their feet wet by doing some intensive underwater training. Then the pressure is on as they seat themselves inside a submerged car and do their darndest to get out. Meanwhile Grant, Tory and Kari roll out the Seven Paper Fold myth. Is it possible to fold a piece of paper in half more than seven times? Taking this myth to the outer limits, our crew sets up at a location that has plenty of space — NASA. Here, in the biggest build they have ever attempted, their mission is to put together a piece of paper that's the size of a football field.
Premiere: Jan. 24, 2007

Episode 73: Speed Cameras
Take two self-confessed speed freaks — yeah, that would be Adam and Jamie — and pit them against the people's nemesis: speed cameras. The result: an action-packed adventure full of fun, fascination and, best of all, fast cars. Can speed cameras be beat by speeding faster than they can click? How about using license plate protectors or changing lanes to avoid the camera's eagle eye? Adam and Jamie put the pedal to the metal to crack these myths. Meanwhile in "Exploding Nitro Patches," Kari, Grant and Tory explore the myth that when the paramedic shouts "Clear!" and the defibrillator vents, its volts may start more than a heart.
Premiere: March 7, 2007

Episode 74: Dog Myths
Well, it's about time, right? That is, it's time to tackle a classic: Is it possible to teach an old dog new tricks? In attempt to find an answer Adam and Jamie go head-to-head with a pair of untrained, middle-aged Alaskan Malamutes. With the help of expert dog trainers, they'll have one week to teach their canine companions five new tricks. Next, Kari, Grant and Tory look into the myth "Beat the Guard Dog." You know the story — the cat burglar wants to sneak past the guard dog. He whips out a juicy steak and while the dog is chowing down, our sneaky thief makes off with the loot. Of course, that's not the only method of getting past a vigilant pooch and our intrepid trio try them all. Finally, to top off our canine special, in "Foil the Bloodhound," the gang tests the old Hollywood tale: A fugitive is on the run and the police with their faithful comrade, the bloodhound, are on his trail. So what does our prey do to shake them off? Simple. Double back, run zigzags or take a detour along the creek for a while. Adam and Jamie put it all to the test to find out if you can really lose these four-legged nose machines that easily.
Premiere: March 14, 2007

Episode 75: More Myths Revisited
Every so often the MythBusters draw conclusions that leave the fans seething. Well, once again, it's time for Adam and Jamie to put some of their most contentious outcomes under the microscope in More Myths Revisited. That's right — tune in and check out a few myths that left you peeved, like Exploding Trombone, Sniper Scope, Finger in the Barrel and Coke and Mentos.
Premiere: March 21, 2007

Episode 76: Voice Flame Extinguisher
It's another hypnotic MythBusters episode, full of sound and fury, and guaranteed to have you spellbound. Grant, Tory and Kari go deeper ... deeper ... deeper into the world of hypnosis, while Adam and Jamie appear to be under some sort of influence as they make extraordinary noise in the name of science. In "Voice Flame Extinguisher," Jamie and Adam set out to discover if it's possible to put out a fire using only your voice. According to the myth, concentrated sound waves can prevent air from getting to the flames and, starved of oxygen, the fire dies. One thing's for sure, the boys' voices aren't gonna set the world on fire!
Premiere: April 11, 2007

Episode 67: Firearms Folklore
Just when you think Adam and Jamie have tested every gun legend in history, they come up with three more myths. In an urban shootout, could a criminal's bullet have hit and then jammed the empty chamber of a policeman's revolver? Saving Private Ryan might have been based on fact but what about the scene where one sniper kills another by shooting straight down the enemy's gun scope? And assuming two antique bullets once hit midair in a Civil War battle, is it even remotely possible those two bullets fused together? In the meantime, Kari, Grant and Tori go to great lengths to see whether humankind's first and simplest tool — the hammer — could be far more dangerous than you think.
Premiere: Nov. 29, 2006

Episode 68: Anti-Gravity Device
Christmas comes once a year but not on MythBusters! Is it really true that leaving some Christmas lights on your tree overnight could cause it to heat up so much that the tree bursts into a ball of flame? Meanwhile, Kari, Grant and Tori investigate a frontier technology that if confirmed would take off in a big way. Anti-gravity is the holy grail of science. But is it science or science fiction? With a flick of a switch can you simply turn off gravity? And if that wasn't enough, in "Vodka Jellyfish," Kari puts her life on the line with a final shot at a vodka myth. Is it true that vodka can cure the pain of a jellyfish sting? There are screams, torture and tentacles!
Premiere: Dec. 6, 2006

Episode 69: 22,000-Foot Fall
Get ready! Jamie and Adam take the plunge on a myth that originated in World War ll and detonate the biggest explosion in MythBusters history. The incredible and seemingly impossible myth: A WW ll turret gunner falls 22,000 feet, only to be saved by the explosion of a 1,000-pound bomb beneath him that cushions his fall. Can this be true? Meanwhile, Grant, Kari and Tory spark into action and visit a bulb that has been burning for 106 years; in a moment of enlightenment, they conclusively turn the lights off on this myth.
Premiere: Dec. 13, 2006

Episode 70: Hindenberg Mystery
In this action-packed episode, Adam and Jamie turn dirigible detectives to try and solve one of aeronautics biggest puzzles: did hydrogen really cause the Hindenburg fire? Meanwhile Kari, Tory and Grant come face-to-face — and have to flee — from some of Nature's natural-born killers. See what unfolds as they test the saying: "If you're being chased by a crocodile, run in a zig-zag, because crocs can't turn corners at speed."
Premiere: Jan. 10, 2007

Episode 71: Pirate Special
Arggghhh, me hearties! Jamie and Adam plundered the seven seas in search of pirate parables and maritime myths. The result? This 2-hour spectacular episode! And, with four stories of hijinks on the high seas the action is thick and fast. Playing with more firearms, the guys try to figure out how deadly cannonballs really are versus the splinters sprayed from a mighty broadside blast. Kari, Grant and Tory on the port side decode the mysteries of the ol' pirate eye patch: why would a pirate wear a patch over a perfectly good eye? And if that isn't enough, the gang tops of the show with rum, knives and sails ... whaat? This one's for the books!
Premiere: Jan. 17, 2007

Episode 62: Killer Cable Snaps
Jamie and Adam whip it good in "Killer Cable Snaps." The theory under scrutiny? If a cable at high tension snaps, it can slice a person clean in two. Meanwhile, in "Pottery Record," Grant, Tori and Kari have a scream exploring the myth of "archaeo-acoustics" — i.e., ancient pottery can contain sounds from the past that can be played back and listened to today, just like a record.
Premiere: Oct. 11, 2006

Episode 63: Air Cylinder Rocket
Put simply, this episode is vintage, explosive MythBusters. Adam and Jamie have unfinished business from their Shark Week special, where they shot and then exploded a scuba tank. But they've always wondered if a ruptured cylinder — carefully aimed — can really cause the massive damage some people claim. Meanwhile, Tori, Grant and Kari go back in time to test some prototypes from the past. They all sound highly dangerous, and they probably are ... After all, they're tinkering with engines fueled by gunpowder!
Premiere: Oct. 18, 2006

Episode 64: More Myths Revisited
Returning to the most controversial myths, "Myths Revisited" offers Jamie and Adam the chance to clear their names. Watch as they repeat past experiments to see if their original answer was genuine or bogus. There's laughter, danger and attitude as the MythBusters fight for their rights.
Premiere: Oct. 25, 2006

Episode 65: Exploding Lighter
Jamie and Adam have a gas exploring the myth of the "Exploding Lighter." In a nutshell, they want to find out if a small, disposable butane lighter can suddenly ignite with the force of several sticks of dynamite. Meanwhile, in the "Magnificent Three," the gang puts on their boots, chaps and cowboy hats to try and shoot down some popular gunslinger myths.
Premiere: Nov. 1, 2006

Episode 66: Concrete Glider
In "Concrete Glider," Adam and Jamie test the old engineering challenge that like a lead balloon, you can't make a concrete glider fly. There's nothing like a challenge to focus the MythBusters' massive minds! Who will fly into history as champ and who will plummet like a stone? Tune in to find out. In the meantime, Kari, Grant and Tori go to amazing lengths to find out just how dangerous it is to stand too close to the edge of a train platform.
Premiere: Nov. 8, 2006

Episode 55: Steam Cannon/Breakfast Cereal
Jamie and Adam once again delve into classical history to tackle a myth surrounding Archimedes. This time, the team tests the myth that Archimedes built the world's first "supergun," a cannon powered by steam. Can they prove this incredible feat of historical steam-powered engineering? Or is the myth just a load of hot air? And, we've all seen the advertising for breakfast cereal — grains packed with vitamins and high-fiber energy. But Adam's mom doesn't believe a word of it! She thinks a typical modern breakfast cereal has less nutritional value than the box it comes in. Could Mom be right? The MythBusters test her theory.
Premiere: July 19, 2006

Episode 56: Whirlpool/Snowplow
Most normal people only encounter a whirlpool if they accidentally pull the drain plug while in the bath. But in this episode, our intrepid heroes Adam and Jamie once again get wet for science. They're testing the myth that somewhere on earth, there's a massive whirlpool sucking whole ships and their hapless crews to a watery grave. Could it be possible? Also, Tory, Kari, and Grant look into the frightening possibility that you could be swept off the road by a snowplow. Can a passing wintery road sweeper displace so much air that it flips an oncoming car? The team finds out — with typically chaotic results!
Premiere: July 26, 2006

Episode 57: Mentos and Soda
Adam and Jamie are trying to figure out the theory behind the chaos when diet cola and mentos mix. Inspired by an internet phenomenon, the Mythbusters take on the controversy surrounding these fizzy fountains. Adam and Jamie pit soda against soda and candy against candy to find the perfect cocktail for their explosive exploits. Meanwhile Kari, Tory and Grant are going postal with an aeronautical myth. Can posting a postage stamp on the rotor blades send a helicopter into a tailspin? A 45-cent stamp versus a $1.3 million machine: it's a David and Goliath story that could leave the Mythbusters with a very hefty repair bill. Get more on the experiment at www.EepyBird.com.
Premiere: Aug. 9, 2006

Episode 58: Shattering Subwoofer/Rough Road Driving
The guys find out if the bass from a car stereo can destroy an automobile. They rip out the interior of a car, build a giant subwoofer to fill it, and then power it by attaching it directly to the drive shaft. Wear your ear plugs for this one! Also, Grant, Kari and Tory hit the road to take on two tall tales from our mates down under. If you're driving on a rough outback road, will you get a smoother ride by driving faster? And, can you stop your windshield from shattering when a stone is kicked up from a passing car by bracing the glass with your hand?
Premiere: Aug. 16, 2006

Episode 59: Crimes and Myth-Demeanors 2
It's "lights, camera, action!" time again for the MythBusters, as they test more Hollywood heists. This time, our cat burglars Adam and Jamie go cold as they try to beat a heat-detecting alarm sensor. Then it's on to motion-detector alarms. They also attempt to crack a door guarded by fingerprint technology, and face a monster safe that can only be opened by — you guessed it — an underwater explosion.
Premiere: Aug. 23, 2006

Episode 60: Earthquake Machine
Adam and Jamie take on one of the greatest scientist/inventor and myth creator legends of all time: Nikolai Tesla and his Earthquake Machine. Tory and Kari investigate a lethal lava lamp.
Premiere: Aug. 30, 2006

Episode 61: Deadly Straw
Jamie and Adam have been known to shoot wind before but in Straw Through Palm they do it with more devastating speed and accuracy than in Mythbusters history. The theory is that in a tropical hurricane the wind can get so strong it can blow a piece of straw through a palm tree trunk. Finally in a cock-a-doodle-doo of a Mythbuster's moment they answer the burning barnyard myth — can a hurricane blow the feathers off a chicken? Meanwhile, Grant, Tory and Kari embrace their sadistic sides and turn the workshop into a horticultural house of horrors.
Premiere: Sept. 6, 2006

Episode 50: Bullets Fired Up
Adam and Jamie set out to solve another high caliber conundrum: Can celebratory gunfire kill when the bullets fall back to earth? With the help of some dead pigs, they worked out the terminal velocity of a falling bullet ... and the results may sting you! Meanwhile, Grant, Tori and Kari quench their thirst with another round of "Vodka Myths."

Episode 51: Myths Revisited
Here's another look at myths that generated a truckload of angry fan mail, prompting Jamie and Adam to put them back under the microscope. In Split Arrow, the three" mythkateers" take their best shots at busting this myth again — with surprising results. Fans were not impressed when the Confederate Rocket was fuelled with paraffin; instead, they insisted on a "salami" launch. In Bulletproof Water, Adam and Jamie explored the depth of survival when shot at underwater.

Episode 52: Mind Control
Adam and Jamie do a little painting and detonating when they try to blow wide open a home-improvement myth. Meanwhile, Grant, Tory and Kari are in conspiracy theory heaven as they team-tackle the myth of mind control. Is it possible to manipulate someone's mind remotely?

Episode 53: Exploding Pants
Tory, Kari and Grant investigate one truly dangerous fashion disaster: spontaneous trouser combustion. It's a problem far too prevalent among farmers. The MythBusters call in the help of the FBI to investigate this trouser tall tale. Meanwhile, Adam and Jamie try to save viewers some hard-earned cash in the Great Gas Conspiracy. When the motor car was born, the great gas conspiracy was the afterbirth. According to conspiracy theorists, gas companies and car manufacturers deliberately make cars so that they guzzle fuel. Then, behind closed doors, the two groups share the profits.

Episode 54: Crimes and Myth-Demeanors 1
The MythBusters put great movie heists to the test. Are Hollywood break-ins complete hocus pocus, or can you really crack the tightest security systems in the world with nothing more than tight-fitting black clothes and a great soundtrack? Adam and Jamie, with the help of a "surreptitious entry handbook," attempt to scale an air duct with hilarious results. The team then tries to tiptoe their way around a laser system before facing the mother of all safes.
