Episode 29: SEMI-TRUCK BASE JUMP
Marta Empinotti would like to be the first woman to perform a BASE jump from a moving semi! Taking place at the beautiful Auburn Bridge in Northern California, Marta will be tethered to the top of the truck, as she and the truck barrel down the road at 60 mph. Once they reach the middle of the bridge, Marta will have to position herself at the edge of the truck and carefully remove herself from the safety line. From there, she will have to launch herself at just the precise moment off the top of the truck and over the side of the bridge, go into a free fall and deploy her BASE canopy. This stunt will take the utmost coordination, skill, balance and timing, not to mention sheer confidence to pull all the maneuvers off safely.

Episode 28: ROCKET MAN
What Visa Parviainen would like to do for "Stunt Junkies" is to accomplish horizontal flight without the aid of a fixed wing or an aircraft. He will do this with the use of miniature jet engines strapped to his boots and launch from a helicopter. Visa hopes to reach speeds of approximately 120 mph and a flight distance of approximately 20 miles. On his last attempt he "flew" for approximately two minutes; this time, using larger engines, he hopes to sustain horizontal flight for an unbelievable five or even 10 minutes!

Episode 27: STEP-UP WORLD RECORD
On Aug. 18, 2000, FMX rider Tommy "Tomcat" Clowers set the world record in step-up at 35 feet. Ronnie Renner wants to break that record. Step-up is much like the high jump seen in track and field but at the height of a pole vault. There is a dirt mound with a carved-out takeoff lip. On top of the mound are two vertical poles with a horizontal bar connecting the top. A rider usually takes off in first gear, pins the throttle, hits the lip, and must carefully and gracefully maneuver their bike up and over the bar, without knocking it off, and land on the down slope on the other side. The impact the riders take on the landing is absolutely grueling. We will follow Ronnie and his dirt crew as they shape the takeoff and landing; watch as they prepare the bike; and we will be there step by step as Ronnie tries to break the record by reaching a height of 40 feet. We will also have a private freestyle session with Ronnie and see how a "family guy" motocross rider lives.

Episode 26: BARGE TO BARGE BACKFLIP
Mike Metzger will do a backflip on his dirt bike, ramp to ramp at a distance of approximately 75 feet. Sounds easy right? Not so fast. The metal ramps will be situated on two barges — the takeoff ramp on one barge and the landing ramp on the other barge 75 feet away, with nothing but the Pacific Ocean in between. It's one thing to backflip a dirt bike, it's another to do it over seawater! If the bike bogs or has any malfunctions going off the takeoff ramp, Mike Metzger will be going swimming. This stunt will take the utmost concentration, timing and skill, and there's no one better to do it than Mike.

Episode 25: HUMAN SLINGSHOT
A slingshot system is comprised of three cranes, a block and tackle pulley system, ropes and a large weight that is used to launch a person several hundred feet into the air. A BASE parachute is then used because of its fast and reliable opening characteristics to safely descend back to earth. Once the system has been set up properly, the Go Fast Team will begin by launching a 50-pound sandbag to calculate the trajectory and altitude. They will then work their way up to a 200-pound sandbag to simulate our athlete. Once everyone is in agreement that the slingshot system is safe and accurate, Scott Smith will be strapped in for the ride of his life.
