Dr. Tan joined the Comprehensive Transplant Center as a surgeon in the kidney/pancreas transplant program in December 2005. He brings extensive clinical experience to his role at Johns Hopkins, having trained for over 10 years at McGill University and the McGill Royal Victoria Hospital Research Institute. Most recently, he comes to Hopkins from a transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota. His clinical and research interests include pancreas and islet cell transplantation, kidney transplantation, clinical immunosuppression, steroid-free protocols, and novel immunosuppressive agents.
