The trouble with most weekend gear is it’s either built to take the harsh treatment on the trail, or it’s designed to be stylish. But not both. And that usually means your “good” luggage ends up trashed after a while on the road (and several passes through the hands of baggage handlers.)

That was the motivation for Adam Blitzer to start Blue Claw Co. luggage. Tired of his bags getting trashed and failing him on journeys that took him through both rural and urban terrain, Blitzer created an affordable luggage line that could survive the rigors of both.
His bags are made of incredibly durable, non-rip 1050 ballistic nylon enhanced with imported leather for a stylish look. All products are sent out to loyal customers who test their durability on their own expeditions, and based on their feedback, Blue Claw makes adjustments to provide a harder wearing bag. Not one to rush things, this can take up to 7 months before they decide a bag is world ready.
The line includes shoe and toiletry bags, a garment bag, a duffel, an over-nighter and the weekender. And in a reverse from most luggage lines, all Blue Claw bags are “anti-wheel.” That’s because Blitzer and other testers found wheels to be a weak point in even very expensive luggage. So all bags are carry only. And all are carry-on approved, designed to fit in the overhead of both commercial liners and regional jets. That means less time in the careless hands of those baggage handlers, and no long waits at the baggage carousel while adventure awaits.
