Sludge Spill: A Major Clean Up

Ash and debris cover where a lake used to be near the Tennessee Valley Authorities Kingston Fossil Plant Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 in Harriman, Tenn.

An earthen wall holding back 525 million gallons of ash slurry gave way inundating more than a dozen houses, and blanketing as much as 400 acres of land with potentially toxic muck.
