Foot Ancestor?
A left foot cast for Lycaenops, an advanced mammal-like reptiles that lived 280 million years ago. Researchers looked at how the position of two foot bones found in human feet emerged from the position of the talus, seen here at the bottom right, and the calcaneous (heel bone) at the bottom left.
