Six Years Later...
This figure shows the southeast wall of an unnamed crater in the Centauri Montes region of Mars, as it appeared in August 1999, and later in September 2005. The bright, light-colored deposits visible in a gully in the later photo — possibly mud, salt or frost — may have been left there when water recently cascaded through the channels.
