In Need of Personal Space
Whale sharks like the one pictured here are not as fearsome as they appear, but they are vulnerable to the presence of curious humans. For that reason, the Australian government has joined others in efforts to protect the threatened species from the effects of ecotourism. Those rules appear to be working, suggests a new photographic survey.
