Changing Planet
Jupiter, as seen in March, 2006, shows the Great Red Spot is on the other side of the planet and a new red spot is visible just to the left of center. It is a red ring with a white center. The whole planet has also changed. Above and to the right of the new red spot is a "funnel" of red penetrating into white, known as South Tropical Disturbances. Near the equator are huge disturbances called south Equatorial Disturbances. North of the disturbances are bright spots called Eruptions. |
