Researchers hacked into an implantable cardiac defibrillator, like the one pictured here, to access a hypothetical patient's medical records and change the device's settings. While the technique they used is too technically challenging to cause worry over patient safety, the researchers say medical device manufacturers should design new devices with potential hackers in mind.
