This ancient feather was encased in amber for at least 100 million years before being discovered and studied by scientists at Humboldt University's Museum of Natural History in Berlin. Using X-rays to determine the feather's structure, the researchers concluded that it could have been from a non-avian dinosaur or an early bird, but they do not know which.
