A Glacier Goes Uphill

Scientists using terrain maps and images of Mars like this one have reported evidence of two-kilometer-thick glaciers on the planet's mid-latitude region. The terrain shown here appears to reveal a glacier once flowed uphill. Rather, the scientists say, the neighboring valley was once so filled with ice that what is now uphill was then downhill.
