Dust Bowl, 1936
Farmer Arthur Coble and sons; Cimmaron County, Okla., April 1936. Farmers in the 1930's stripped the plains of tough, native grasses, and replaced them with more fragile crops, like corn and wheat. This led to warmer temperatures, as well as less precipitation, researchers have shown. | Discovery News Video
