The power of Keck’s Adaptive Optics is demonstrated in two sets of exposures that compare the Keck AO system off, at the left, to the system on, at the right. At the top is Uranus, its rings and moon Miranda. On the bottom is Uranus and its atmospheric details in the near-infrared spectrum. The image has been doubled in size.
