Ceramic Jars on Sea Floor

Ceramic Jars on Sea Floor
This is part of one photomosaic strip of a section of the Chios shipwreck, composed of 14 individual images. The autonomous robot collected this data in just 42 seconds. Most of the wreck's visible remains consist of ceramic storage jars, called amphorae, made on the island of Chios. It's likely that one or two more tiers of amphorae may lie under the sediments. Small, fish, starfish and sponges can be seen.
