Hazy Skies
Jan. 11, 2004 — Spirit's panoramic camera shows the hills southeast of the landing site. Dusty Martian skies limit how much detail can be seen. Compare hills on the left to those on the right, nearly two times farther away. The left panel of this image was captured in the late morning, looking toward the sun. The right image was taken in the early afternoon, when the Sun was higher and the skies appeared darker.
