Along for the Ride
Jan. 20, 2004 — This animation, made with images from the rover's hazcam, shows the rover approaching its first rock. Engineers drove Spirit approximately 3 meters (10 feet) toward the football-sized, mountain-shaped rock, dubbed Adirondack. The drive took approximately 30 minutes to complete, including time stopped to take images.
