Bird's Eye View of Crater

Feb. 12, 2004 — A bird's-eye view of the crater Opportunity landed in at Meridiani Planum was created with data from the orbiting Mars Global Surveyor. A portion of the lander can be seen at the bottom left of center. Bounce marks can be seen below and to the top left. The rock outcrop containing many of the rover's rock targets runs from the top right of the image to the left of the image.
