The National Imagery and Mapping Agency agrees to use the nation's spy satellites to watch the shuttle during flight in hopes of spotting any damage. The on-orbit reconnaissance is among dozens of new cameras and imaging systems that will become standard for all shuttle missions. Review the safety upgrades to the shuttle.
