Reef-Dwelling SharksA gray reef shark swims through a shallow pass in French Polynesia. Like other reef sharks, the gray reef shark has a broad, round snout and large eyes, and is a very fast and agile predator. An aggressive shark, it tends to dominate other reef sharks in its territory. When threatened, the gray reef shark hunches its back, lowers its fins and swims in a side to side motion. This species is common to coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific.
