  HOW SHARKS WORK

Sharks in Movies
Director Steven Spielberg's thriller Jaws became the must-see film in the summer of 1975. Its popularity hit like an earthquake, sending ripples of shark-induced fear throughout the world. The opening scene, rated as one of the scariest moments ever filmed, sets the tone for sharks in movies.

Worst Shark Attack Ever
On July 30, 1945 two torpedoes fired by a Japanese submarine struck the USS Indianapolis, sending nine hundred men into the Pacific wearing life jackets and bobbing with the waves. Sharks began to arrive at the site by sunrise to begin what has been called the worst shark attack ever.
