From Afghanistan to Alaska, I'll get the scoop.

Hello. How are you?

My name is Kasey-Dee and I am a video journalist for the Discovery Channel's online news show, Discovery News. I've been with Discovery News since 2006 and I honestly believe I have the best job in the world. Can you blame me? I travel around the country and report on all the latest, coolest things in the sphere of science. Some of my all-time favorite stories I've covered at Discovery are: The Iditarod, dinosaur findings in Montana, the launch of space shuttle Discovery, and swimming with sharks. My favorite subject to cover is animals, with technology and the environment coming in second and third. I also have a weekly show called 'Why? Tell Me Why!' which answers some of life's biggest mysteries (i.e. why do we have bellybuttons, fingernails, goose bumps, etc).

I ventured into the world of Discovery after a stint as a local television news reporter in North Dakota. In the Great Plains, I hardly ever covered science news, my main focus was crime, politics and the military. As a military reporter, I was given the opportunity to be embedded with North Dakota's National Guard 1-188th ADA JLENS unit in Afghanistan in 2006 . Before venturing into the great north, I was photographer for the Vans Warped Tour, as well as a television reporter for University of Maryland's Capital News Service.

I am originally from Maryland but have moved around quite a bit. I have a silly little pit bull mix named Drama Michael. I am a shoe fanatic, hate Jell-O, love odd numbers, moving, the color black, hip hop, and animals/insects. I also ask a lot of questions.
