4. Grounded Space Camera

Hubble's original camera -- the Wide Field Planetary Camera -- never really got a chance to show its stuff in orbit.

Why? A misshapen prime mirror left Hubble with blurry vision, so the camera was replaced on-orbit in 1993 by a new imager with built-in corrective optics.

The old camera is now on display at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
