Dan Fogel
Deckhand/Diver - 35, (Michigan)
Dan spent a lot of his life working as a laborer on construction sites. He says he's a jack of all trades, but doesn't have much of a mechanical background. In 2007, at 30, Fogel joined the Army. It's uncommon for someone of that age, and most of the guys in his basic training class were 18-22. He only served four years, and worked operating an excavator, making clearings and roads.
He met Scott in 1999 when the two of them were working at Home Depot. The met by getting into a fake fight in the store and became fast friends. Their relationship has always been like that - giving each other plenty of razzing. He says he can handle Scott pretty well, but knows he has quite a temper. His goal is to get gold this summer, but he's another rookie who has never mined before.
