Grant grew up in sunny Florida, but by age 14 had moved up to Alaska. He spends most of the year down in Homer, but comes up to Nome during dredging seasons. A year ago, he grew tired of his desk job and followed his friend Zeke up to Nome. He can't say that he had the intention of becoming a miner, but he will say that gold chose him. Now that he has a taste, he's addicted.
