Big Question: What's the first thing you'd say to an alien?

If we contacted an alien civilization, what might we say? "Friend or foe"? Something else? Are there universal questions the whole world wants answered? Would it even be a dialog, or would it more likely be an example of aliens communicating among themselves that we are somehow able to decode?
