Doctor Bill Berry is Dean of the School of Business for the University of Phoenix. Bill worked primarily in accounting with an emphasis on healthcare before joining the University in 2001. Bill is a native of Southern Illinois, born near St. Louis, Missouri, and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
He is married, the father of six children, and eleven grandchildren. Bill and his wife, Trish, love animals; they have a parrot, a cat, and a rescued greyhound. Bill loves teaching. Bill has held jobs working for his father's trucking company, selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door, acting as an IT system administrator and programmer, working as a controller, a public accountant, and owning a nursing facility management company, to name a few. Bill also has the distinction as one of the last official CPA certificate holders in the state of Missouri.
Bill also works as a Certified Advanced Facilitator actively teaching Research, Ethics, Accounting, and Healthcare Finance courses for the University. He has held various roles while with the University including Area Chair for Accounting, Campus College Chair for Business and Management, Director of Academic Affairs for the Springfield, Missouri campus, and Associate Dean for the School of Business prior to becoming Dean last year.
