Curiosity Expert: Meredith Curley

Dean of the College of Education at the University of Phoenix

Meredith Curley currently serves as the Dean of the College of Education at the University of Phoenix. She is in her 19th year with the University; starting her career at the Phoenix Campus. As Dean, she oversees regulatory compliance, program expansion, and program development of educator preparation programs across the country. Meredith holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Argosy University; focusing her research on accreditation and accountability. She has an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BA in History from the University of Arizona. She has also held teaching certifications in middle/secondary history and adult education.

Meredith is actively involved at the state and national level in efforts to improve teacher education and educator preparation. Dr. Curley participated in the Teacher Leadership Exploratory Consortium to create the newly drafted Model Teacher Leadership Standards. She has served as a committee member of the State of Arizona Governor's P-20 Council, she sits on the Executive Board for the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC), is an active accreditation review team member in Arizona and Board of Institutional Reviewer for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, serves on the Arizona Certification Advisory Committee reporting to the State Board of Education, and holds a professional membership with the State Consortium on Educator Effectiveness (SCEE) sponsored by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO).
