Keri L. Heitner, Ph.D., is a research psychologist and writer and teaches research, dissertation, and residency classes at the University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies. She is also a lead researcher for the University of Phoenix Research Institute and the owner and principal at All Aspects Research, where she conducts service delivery research and development in the health, education, business and human services fields. She specializes in applied research and evaluation, needs assessment, strategic planning, and program development.
Recent research includes an examination of the role of career colleges in addressing the educational needs of racial and ethnic minority students (in press), "The Great Divide," a study of disparities between workers' and employers' perceptions of current and future skills needed, and a study on current and future language demands. Keri's research has also included an evaluation of a National Science Foundation-funded science curriculum for middle school students; an evaluation of an entrepreneurial pathways project involving a state university and multiple community colleges; an assessment of service delivery gaps for persons living with HIV/AIDS; and an examination of barriers to doctoral learners' educational attainment.
In addition, Keri has generated more than $73 million in public and private funding for dozens of research, education, service, and training projects in areas such as special and alternative education, mental health services, career re-entry, after school programs, prevention and treatment, services for persons with disabilities, and the arts.
Keri holds a PhD and a MPhil from the City University of New York Graduate School and University Center Environmental Psychology Program, an MA in General/Experimental Psychology from the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the New School for Social Research, and a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues.
