A native Alaskan, Melvin hails from the fishing community of King Cove. Many captains say they haven't had much luck hiring locals, but skipper Wild Bill thinks Melvin could be the exception that breaks the stereotype. Melvin is a hard worker and great mechanic. He excels at running the ship's hydraulic systems.
