Although this will be Ryan's first year on the Time Bandit, he is no stranger to the Hillstrands.
Ryan's father is a close family friend of both Johnathan and Andy, and has also connected with them during his time fishing under the late Capt. Phil Harris on the Cornelia Marie.
After Phil's death, he stuck it out on the Cornelia while Jake and Josh were running the vessel with Derrick Ray, but has since bounced around various fishing boats.
A third generation fisherman, Ryan has been on boats his entire life and has worked just about every fishery you can imagine in Alaska. He even took his first steps on his father's crab boat.
Ryan plans to learn as much as he can while working for the Hillstrands, in hopes of starting his own fishery in a couple years.
