The Wrong Claim: November 2, 2012

In the Klondike, the Hoffman crew has split in two and Dave Turin is ready to start mining his own claim. His test drills show great results but Dave makes a rookie error that ends up costing the Hoffman's over $10,000. By the end of the week a string of disasters mean that Todd is ready to give up on his 1000 oz goal and Dave has no claim to mine. At Big Nugget, Parker Schnabel wants to get up the treacherous road to Smith Creek Hill where he believes he’ll find millions in gold. But Grandpa John predicts a fatal disaster and forces him to re-consider. With no ground to mine, Parker must make a deal for a new claim or face failure. The seventeen year old is forced to negotiate with old-timer Earle Foster, who’s been making land deals for over 50 years. At Porcupine Creek, Fred and Dustin are ready to get down to the gold at the bottom of the glory hole. But a government hydrologist warns them that the worst snows in 50 years are about to melt. If he’s right, the floods coming off the mountains could wipe out their entire operation.
