Lieutenant Wayne Hanson
Drug Task Force
Born and raised in Humboldt County, Hanson graduated from high school and became a volunteer Reserve Deputy when he was 18 years old. He took after his father, a military police officer in the Canadian Army during WWII. Hanson went on to serve as a correctional officer at the jail, a patrol officer, a member of the SWAT team, and a Detective Sergeant with Major Crimes. But ultimately he took a liking to helicopters and hiking the hills, so he joined the marijuana unit and has been working marijuana eradication now for more than two decades. He currently serves as head of the Humboldt County Drug Task Force Unit. He enjoys boating and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
