Professor Lovejoy is an American evolutionary biologist who specializes in forensic pathology, biomechanics and anatomy. He has been working on the analysis of hominid fossils since the 1970s, and with the Middle Awash research project since its inception. Dr. Lovejoy has analyzed and published materials on many notable fossils, including the Lucy (Australopithecus afarensis) skeleton and the Ardipithecus ramidus skeleton. Dr. Lovejoy has taught at Kent State University for 40 years.
