Meet The Science Team

The sustained, intensive investigation leading to the landmark publication of the Aridpithecus ramidus fossils took an international team of experts fifteen years to delicately, meticulously and methodically piece together "Ardi" and her lost world. Leading this effort was a core group of scientists from the Middle Awash project dedicated to the intense study of this region of Ethiopia and its unique fossil assemblages. Here are the key research professionals who led the international team from the beginning of this momentous discovery -- and who are joint authors of the lead article in the special Ardipithecus issue of Science magazine.
