Born to a poor railroad family, Amber is used to doing things on her own and from scratch. Her father was a hot-rod-loving mechanic who taught her how to "wrench" from an early age. She started her wood working career as a laborer in a cabinet shop during high school. Now a foreman for a custom log home company, Amber has a wide knowledge of building. She and her husband have remodeled their historic home from the ground up, with many structural improvements on the outside and furniture for the inside. She loves to be outdoors, dirt-biking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. Amber believes in empowering other women, she volunteers for a woman's clinic and is a board member for the non-profit, Trust Women Fund that provides financial aid for women in need of abortions.
