Hosts and Blasters

The 26-year-old son of Scott Gustafson, Cody has followed in his father's footsteps making him the third generation of Gustafson blasters. If you ask him how long he's been in blasting, he'll say "a full 26 years." If Cody wasn't on a job site helping out his father, or watching a blast, he was hearing about it at the dinner table. As soon as Cody left high school he became an integral part of the Demtech crew, learning the trade directly from his father. At age 21, Cody became the youngest person ever to earn a blasting license in the state of Pennsylvania. Cody works alongside his father in both the planning of the demolitions and the execution of the blasts in the field.

Cody is fearless when it comes to demolitions, and can be found placing explosives at the top of bridges come rain or shine. His motto is "if you don't scare yourself at least once a day, then you're not living." Bridges, he says, are his favorite thing to blast, since there's so much variety. Cody dreams of taking over the family business one day when his dad eventually retires.
