Meet Jim Redyke

Dykon Blaster

Hosts and Blasters

Blaster Jim Redyke began his blasting career in the 1960s under Controlled Demolition Inc, Baltimore, where he worked on crews that brought down hundreds of structures. In 1974 Jim founded his own blasting company, Dykon Explosive Demolition, and is now one of the most established blasters in the United States. Jim has directed hundreds of demolition projects from giant inner-city buildings to large industrial structures. Jim does it all, from designing the blast plan to loading the charges on site. Jim is known for being attentive to detail and doesn't take any excuses when it comes to hard work. Throughout his career he has allowed his strong sense of faith to guide him, and says that it is because of this faith that he has successfully completed so many projects.

Jim is an active member of the International Society of Explosive Engineers and the National Demolition Association, and is a former board member of both associations. He is licensed in all states requiring licenses and many foreign countries. Blasting has taken Jim and his small team of dedicated workers around the world, including assignments in Mexico, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Korea, Canada, Saudi Arabia, United Arabic Emirates, England, Chile and Aruba.
