Meet Mick Williams

Fifty-two year old Mick Williams comes from an esteemed lineage of blasters: his father was one of the very first recognized blasters in the UK. Mick grew up around explosives, pushing the detonating button for the first time on one of his father's blasts at the age of eight. By age 16 he was helping with prep work on-site, and began learning the trade first-hand from his father. Along with Dick Green, Mick makes up half of one of the finest double acts in the explosive demolition business. Commonly known as "Mick and Dick," they are the blasters behind the UK demolition company Controlled Group and are ranked amongst Britain's foremost blasters. Since joining Controlled Group in 1993, they have completed hundred of explosive demolitions world wide in over twelve different countries.

As the Explosives Division's general manager, Mick is responsible for all of the Controlled Group's blasts. He finds the payoff of life as a blaster extremely rewarding, and after years in the business never gets complacent about a job.
