Now a historic bed-and-breakfast, the inn once stood directly in the path of 40,000 retreating Confederate soldiers and became a Civil War field hospital. Over the years, staff and guests have reported seeing apparitions, moving objects and feeling as though they are being watched. Jennie Wade House, Gettysburg, Pa. Shot through the kitchen door of her sister's house, 20-year-old Jennie Wade was the only civilian killed during the Battle of Gettysburg. On the team's first night of investigation in that now-historic home, Katie is frightened by disembodied footsteps and later finds audio evidence to confirm her claim. Farnsworth House, Gettysburg, Pa. In a seemingly successful attempt to increase the chances of paranormal activity in the Farnsworth House, believed to be the origin of the sniper's bullet that killed Jennie Wade, Brad and Barry Klinge dispatch a group of Civil War re-enactors to the house. THE BETRAYAL Premiered: Oct. 21, 2010 Hill View Manor, New Castle, Pa. Long before this former nursing home closed in 2004 due to a lack of funding, Hill View employees claimed to hear unexplained noises. Since its abandonment, Hill View's reported paranormal activity has only increased, including disembodied voices and an angry spirit in the basement ... who might just be behind the sounds of fingernails scraping the walls and the slamming of a door in Katie Burr's face. Fort Niagara, Youngstown, N.Y. French traders constructed Fort Niagara in 1726, and over the years it changed hands between the French, British and Americans through a series of bloody battles. Now a museum, the fort is a hotbed of unexplained noises and possible object manipulation. One employee named Tim claims a pitcher of cider was knocked from his hand in the basement and he has refused to step foot in the basement ever since. LIZZIE BORDEN Premiered: Oct. 28, 2010 Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast, Fall River, Mass. Lizzie Andrew Borden was living with her father Andrew J. Borden, a wealthy businessman, and her stepmother, Abby Gray Borden, when, on Aug. 4, 1892, the couple were brutally murdered by ax. On the basis of strong circumstantial evidence, Lizzie was accused of the crime and stood trial in June 1893. Though she was subsequently acquitted, townspeople remained convinced of her guilt. Is it possible that the alleged spirits of the Borden family hold the key to unlocking this mystery once and for all? The Everyday Paranormal team uses unconventional methods — including an attorney — to find out. Stone's Public House, Ashland, Mass. This 176-year-old inn was built to serve customers arriving via the nearby railroad. But while the trains brought in a lucrative business, they also were the cause of several tragic deaths, including that of a little girl named Mary. Current and former employees have reported hearing heavy footsteps and a little girl laughing and singing. Some have even reported seeing apparitions of a little girl and that of an adult male, believed to be the former owner, John Stone. |
