Josh Bernstein doesn't just advocate greener living; he lives it... and you can too.
Check out Josh's top 10 eco-friendly tips:
10. Run the washer/dishwasher only when full, or just wash the dishes by hand.
9. Take mass transit, walk or ride your bike when possible.
8. Recycle – check with your local recycling company to get a list of what they will accept at their location.
7. Don’t let your old cell phones, computer equipment and other electronics fill up our landfills, either. Check online for companies that will recycle them for you.
6. Stop junk mail from filling your mailbox. There are companies that can help (i.e., GreenDimes.com, catalogchoice.org), and using less paper saves trees.
5. Use fans instead of the A/C when you can.
4. Install a low-flow showerhead and take shorter showers. Shower with a friend.
3. Turn off all lights and electronics when not using them. Unplug them, too, as they still use power even when they're turned off.
2. Make sure your car tires are properly inflated. This saves gas and extends the life of the tires.
1. Buy less bottled water. I distill my own at home.
