DETROIT BROTHERS

Brothers Dave and James Kaye started Detroit Bros. Custom Cycles in 2002. Their mission is to build totally unique motorcycles that focus on the mechanical and subversive, while bucking the trend of homogenous mass-produced choppers. Their designs reflect the city of Detroit: classically styled, yet technologically progressive. Each bike the brothers build is a one-off endeavor, and they approach it as not only a motorcycle, but also as a rolling piece of art.

James Kaye was classically trained as a metal sculptor at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mich.

Dave Kaye graduated from the University of Michigan Business School with a degree in finance and worked on the Chicago Board Options Exchange as an equity options market maker.

In addition to hosting Motor City Motors, the Kayes have also been featured on two episodes of Discovery Channel’s Biker Build-Off, in countless magazines such as Barnett's, Cycle Source and Street Chopper.
