Growing up in a small fishing village, Michael can't even fathom living in a city. He spent his youth learning to fish, hunt and trap in Maine. Now a Buddhist, however, he admits to having some difficulty killing animals. With a degree in biology, Michael has a vast knowledge of insects, reptiles and plant life, specifically mushrooms. He has a small fear of giant spiders and has never spent time in the tropics, but he is looking forward to traveling through what he calls "One of the richest biological areas on the planet."
